Acupuncture

Acupuncture is an elegant and very intricate system of energetic balancing through the stimulation of acupuncture points.  Acupuncture points each have very specialized functions and are linked by energetic channels that roughly follow the pathways of major nerves and blood vessels.  Because the body is united by this beautiful network that resembles a web in its many layered complexity, many unusual and complicated disharmonies can be treated by acupuncture that cannot be treated or even understood by other methods.

Acupuncture treatments are always holistic in nature and it is always foremost in the practitioner's mind that no symptom or disharmony happens in isolation.  Every system in the body is very deeply linked with every other system, and none are entirely divisible from or unaffected by any other part.  This is why even the most simple treatment with very few needles can have such a profound effect on both the body and the spirit.

What to expect during a treatment:

The initial treatment begins with an in depth interview in which a thorough health history is recorded.  Together, patient and practitioner discuss the current illness and determine treatment goals.  An individual diagnosis is made by the practitioner to determine the course of treatment.  Acupuncture points are chosen according to each patient's unique diagnosis.

All treatments take place in a private and relaxing setting.  The acupuncture points are chosen and the needles are placed, after which the patient is allowed to rest. Acupuncture can be very relaxing and many     patients drift to sleep during the treatments.

All needles are made from sterile stainless steel and are single-use only as required by law.  The needles themselves are very small, many of them finer than a human hair, and usually illicit only a very small sensation when inserted which quickly fades away.

Frequency of Treatment and Rates:

In general, conditions which have begun recently and suddenly may take very little treatment to be resolved completely.  Conditions which are chronic and have persisted for longer periods of time may require a longer course of treatment.  Each person's body is unique and has its own individual challenges and strengths.  Treatment sessions may be purchased individually as needed or as a group at a discounted rate.

Initial Intake and treatment: $90

Follow-up: $70

A Set of 5 Treatments: $300  ($60 per treatment)
